Home Depot has a DIY program for Kids every month! It falls on the first Saturday each month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Each craft they make every month is different and best of all it’s FREE.

Kids get to create and decorate their craft (with parent help). They also will get a certificate of achievement, their own HOME DEPOT apron and a commemorative pin (while supplies last, so get there early)

Some of the previous events we have gone to have been Bird Houses. They even stick to your window so the kids can peak inside to see the birds (if you have been lucky to get a nest, we have not!)

They also made Windmill Planters. Each kid can learn to grow and take care of their own plant. Home Depot even provided dirt and green bean seeds!

The last one we went to, they were able to make little wooden cars that actually rolled. Those fell in the Month of June so Kids could have given them to their Dad’s for Father’s Day if they wanted!

You can register in advance for the Workshop by going to the Home Depot website. You will need to select the store and it will list all the work shops available.

For kids, however, you don’t actually have to register you are able to just show up and if there are supplies, your child(ren) will be able to participate.

Also, if you miss a week, or just feel like doing more projects I found you can purchase their Kits for Kids off of their website, or even Amazon.

We really enjoy being able to go every month and make something new as a family. Plus, we get these really cute projects that were made *mostly* by the kids and we can keep them for when they are older.
